Fall is one of my favorite times of the year to decorate the house, aside from Christmas. And a lot of the decor I use can be repurposed for the entire holiday season!

This is the perfect season to make my home feel cozy and warm, using lots of candles, blankets, and throw pillows as the big decor pieces. And you can’t go wrong with a few strategically placed pumpkins, right?

If you’re looking for some simple and inexpensive options for your home decor this season, check out some of my favorite bloggers and DIY experts. These projects used ordinary objects and seasonal items from Dollar Tree to turn their homes into a beautiful fall festival.

Follow me on Instagram @stephthorneblog for Blogtober starting Monday, October 1, where I will be showing off some of my own DIY craft projects for fall!

Dollar Tree Pumpkin Makeover

Debbie Doo’s blog uses simple pumpkins from Dollar Tree, along with some craft paint and a few natural branches to create this fall table or mantle decor.

Fall Dollar Store Bowl Makeover

The Craft Patch turned an orange plastic leaf tray into an adorable rustic-looking bowl using flat white spray paint. It would make the perfect piece to add to a fireplace or bookcase.

Fall Centerpieces from Dollar Tree

Passionate Penny Pincher nailed the look of a long table centerpiece with their simple, but elegant candleholders with candy corn filling! For about $10, you can make these three festive candleholders.

Simple Halloween Candy Holders

I love this idea from My Garden of Eden because I never would have thought to glue a candle stick holder to a glass cylinder for some height. I plan to make about six of these, then place six regular cylinders in front to make a full candy buffet.

Fall Pumpkin Wreath with Dollar Store Items

This is a great update to a traditional wreath from Concord Cottage, and it seems pretty easy to make with just some paint, pretty ribbon, and Dollar Tree pumpkins and foam circles. I could also see using this to paint the house numbers as well.

Dollar Store Leaf Pillow Cover

Sparkles of Sunshine makes this throw pillow DIY look so easy! With just a felt leaf and some fabric glue, you can turn a plain pillow into a gorgeously colorful statement piece in your living room or bedroom. I could also see putting a Christmas felt piece on the other side, and flipping the pillow for the change in holiday.

What are you planning to do to decorate for fall? Do you use Pinterest or Dollar Tree for your inspiration?
